Highway vehicle and trailer safety

Many accidents result prior to even getting the snowcat on the snow. Make sure that trucks and trailers are DOT compliant and proper safety checks are completed before heading out. Ensure that proper safety equipment such as wheel chocks, fire extinguishers, flares and cones are present and in good order. It is amazing how some of the smaller items such as a balanced load and proper tire pressure will greatly affect handling in snow and ice conditions, thus decreasing the chance of serious accidents.

We have talked about this before in a previous blog post, and are offering courses this winter specifically in trailer safety with dates and locations listed here.

Safe Travels!
