COURSE OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES

As popularity for snowmobiles has arisen over the past decade, Safety One Training has developed this course to focus on snowmobile safety and survival, as well as in-field repair of snowmobiles.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive the Safety One Snowmobile Safety Certification and will be able to:

• Safely operate snowmobiles
• Learn critical survival skills and procedures

COURSE DURATION

Two Days – Safe Rider Training (16 hours)

Three Days – Safe Rider Training + Winter Survival (24 hours)

CLASS SIZE: Maximum 6 (1 Instructor)

SPECIAL NOTICE

Please note that because of the specialized nature of our safety courses, students must bring the snow vehicles they currently use to class.

If this is not possible, please contact Safety One for assistance.

AUDIENCE

This course is designed to teach snowmobile riders about safe riding techniques, survival skills, extrication techniques and tricks and in-filed repair of snowmobiles.

PREREQUISITES FOR THIS COURSE

No formal prerequisites for this course.
Physical and mental aptitude for riding snowmobiles in winter conditions.

OSHA General Duty Clause Section 5a1:

• (a) Each employer —
  • (1) shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees

Regulations & Standards/ANSI/ASSE

• This course uses compliant safety methods from ANSI Z490.1
