23 Jun ASSE Conference 2017 Recap
For those of you who missed, the ASSE Safety 2017 Conference / Expo was a great show. Here is a recap from Safety One’s perspective.
Held at the Colorado Convention Center June 19-21, the ASSE Safety 2017 Professional Development Conference & Exposition brought hundreds of top safety companies and thousands of OSHA professionals together for a week of networking, continuing education and professional development.
With so much activity it was hard to take it all in!
Monday was an exciting, busy and quick day! With a late afternoon start to the expo and the excitement of a new show it was challenging to have a conversation with everyone who stopped by our booth! Overall, we were able to meet and talk with dozens of folks interested in the ATV/UTV Training as well as those looking for Desert and Winter Survival Education.
Tuesday was the first full day of the exposition, and the topic of the day was Confined Space Safety and Rescue. Although it was hard to have long and thorough conversations with every visitor, we were able to answer many questions about the revised regulations and Safety One Confined Space Training. For those who are not familiar with this training, our course not only checks all the boxes for entrant responsibilities but provides professionals with the skills required to provide prompt rescue.
Wednesday was the last day for the expo with plenty of folks looking to make the most of their time in Denver. The popular topics included Confined Space and Tower Climbing Safety.
The President of EXOSHA, Inc. and Director of Safety from Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance CO. gave an instructive presentation regarding the newly revised regulations for Confined Space. Through a live role play, they demonstrated the differences and similarities between the newly revised ANSI Z117.1 R2016 “Safety Requirements for Entering Confined Spaces” and the new OSHA “Confined Spaces in Construction” Rule 1926.1201-1213.
Another great presentation on Wednesday was from National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE). Titled Zero Gravity: Safety Solutions for the Communication Tower Workforce, the presentation spoke directly to the challenges faced by tower technicians in our industry.
Many attendees at our booth expressed interest in the Safety One Standard Fall Protection Training for Tower Safety and Rescue. This training course gets tower climbers certified and back to work in just one day, yet doesn’t skimp on the classroom or hands on portion of Fall Protection Safety & Rescue.
As quickly as it started the show ended. For those we met, we hope the show was as exciting for you as it was for us. For those who couldn’t make it we hope this was a helpful recap and look forward to helping solve your at-height and training challenges.
